Black Box (2023-)

Titled "Black Box," this series of oil paintings delves into the enigmatic nature of Artificial Intelligence, interrogating its opaque mechanisms through the canvas of minimalist robotic figures set against stark monochromatic backgrounds. The paintings confront us with a visual paradox: the simplicity of the monochrome palette stands in stark contrast to the complexities inherent in the algorithms that power these machine forms. Much like the 'black box' systems they symbolize, the machines remain mysterious, their internal operations hidden yet profoundly impactful. As viewers, we are compelled to question our often naïve fascination with AI, its cultural and ethical ramifications, and to confront the uneasy relationship between visibility and understanding.
